It constructs a historical reanalysis dataset of major hazards (floods, heatwaves, wildfires) to identify vulnerability hotspots and assess agricultural impacts. A physics-informed machine-learning model quantifies these hazards' effects on food production, focusing on rice and vegetables. Additionally, a pseudo-global warming (PGW) framework projects future hazard impacts under climate change scenarios. The findings aid policy development for climate resilience, helping Singapore adapt its food supply strategy, while regional collaboration with research institutions, agricultural organizations, and insurers may influence broader policy changes.Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in areas related to geography, computing and/or Earth science
  • Proficiency in remote sensing, geographic information systems, and statistics
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, R, and Google Earth Engine
  • At least 3 years of working experience in academia
  • Experience in academic report writing or paper publication
  • Experience with geography fieldwork
  • Able to work independently and possess strong follow-through skills
  • A team player in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and writing skills
