- Perform customer due diligence (“CDD”) reviews for new client on-boarding, ongoing periodic reviews and material transactions such as termination, asset injection, distribution, etc.
- Assist the BMS Manager in his/her role as AML Champion for the Private Trust business in managing AML/CFT Compliance matters including but not limited to:
- Report Key Risk Indicators and other AML risk measurements to relevant risk committees
- Ensure proper implementation and compliance of AML/CFT policies and procedures by the Private Trust team in their day-to-day administration of the private trusts and investment companies
- Investigating high risk clients and reporting where necessary, including Politically Exposed Persons, and obtaining all necessary documentation
- Escalating risk matters to AML compliance team and/or senior management as required according to CDD procedures
- Monitor and track that all risk and compliance issues and audit points are resolved and completed on a timely basis
- To support initiatives in areas of regulatory compliance, systems enhancements and processes improvements to increase efficiencies, reduce risk within the Private Trust team
- To ensure proper implementation and compliance of our policies and procedures (including AML/CFT requirements, FATCA, PDPA, key operating procedures and internal control procedures) by the Private Trust administrators in their day-to-day administration of the private trusts and investment companies.
- To prepare and ensure timeliness, consistency and accuracy in the CDD reviews of complex trusts and transactions including assessment of screening alerts.
- To review and ensure timeliness, consistency and accuracy in the CDD reviews
- To support compliance review and audit (internal/external) including collation and review of supporting documents, issue rectifications
- To report key risk indicators to relevant committees
- To highlight any risk and compliance issues to Business Management Support Manager and/or Head of Private Trust and to assist with escalation to AML compliance team and/or senior management as required by CDD procedures
- To investigate high risk customers and reporting where necessary, including Politically Exposed Persons, and obtaining all necessary documentation
- Degree Holder in Finance, Business with 3-5 years of proven experience in AML/CFT compliance, ideally within the financial services industry.
- A strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations and best practices.
- Experience conducting thorough Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews for complex clients and transactions.
- Ability to identify and assess high-risk clients, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).
- Experience with reporting and investigating suspicious activity.
- Familiarity with FATCA, PDPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate findings and recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
