The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow in Prof Zaher’s group.The Research Fellow will take on a significant role in Eutectic Solvents and carbohydrate synthesis, where you will lead innovative research project focused on synthesis, characterization, and applications of DES and carbohydrates.Key Responsibilities:Lead and conduct research projects focusing on the synthesis and applications of eutectic solvents and synthesis of carbohydrates.Design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to contribute to the development of new project.Publish research findings in reputable journals.Conduct synthesis of relevant carbohydrate entities.Synthesize and characterize pure eutectic solvents for application in protein extraction.Explore the diverse potential of eutectic solvents in purification of proteins.Explore the potential of synthesized carbohydrates for various applications.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of research projects and the translation of findings into edible proteins.Job Requirements:A PhD in Synthetic Chemistry with a focus on synthesis, purification, and characterization of eutectic solvents or carbohydrates.Minimum of 1 year of postdoctoral hands-on research experience in the synthesis and characterization of organic compounds.Experience in the synthesis of carbohydrates and DES.Proven track record of conducting independent research projects, publishing research papers in reputable journals, and presenting findings at conferences or symposiums.Demonstrated expertise in eutectic solvents through the successful execution of research projects and the publication of impactful research papers.Expertise in experimental design, data analysis (NMR, IR, MS, etc.), and publication of research findings in reputable journals.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute complex experiments in the field of eutectic solvents and carbohydrate synthesis.Proven ability to lead research projects and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate research findings effectively through oral presentations and written publications.Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding ethical research practices and regulatory guidelines.Ability to coordinate progress with other research teams.We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTU
