The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research (EMPOWER) Centre is a University-Level Research Centre whose mission is to maximise every child’s mental and emotional capital by uplifting neurodevelopmental trajectories during early sensitive periods through interdisciplinary discovery science and translational technologies.We are seeking a Senior Assistant Manager who will provide oversight and leadership in support of the Centre’s work plan and objectives; coordination and oversight for matters relating to the Centre’s financials and management of the Centre’s day-to-day operations and activities.Responsibilities:Overall financial management which includes budget forecasting, preparation of grant claim statements, grant variation requests to funding agency and regular financial audits.Responsible for allocation of budgets for research projects which includes financial analysis and reports to the grantor / governing board.Track and monitor actual KPIs.Oversee matters pertaining to human resource; recruitment of staff, annual staff appraisal and salary bench-marking review.Drive the development and signing of legal documentation needed for successful operations of the lab.Other relevant duties and tasks as assigned.Job Requirements:Good tertiary degree.Prior experience in grant administration or have managed grants at a large programme level with exposure to NRF/RIE funding will be highly advantageous.Strong organizing, planning and analytical skills.Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
