The Opportunity:

The primary tasks of the candidate is to support the Installation, Checkout, Integration and Testing (ICIT) activities of Thales’ radar systems onboard the military platform during project phase. The candidate could also be involved in the Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) of the Systems in the factory.

After delivery during operation and support (O&S) phase, the staff provides his system expertise to support end-user and maintenance team to resolve technical issues and execute continuous improvement required on the Systems.

The staff reports to the Deputy Head of Defence Hub and at times may assign to provide technical assistance in sonar and communication systems during project and maintenance phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with overseas Business Line unit to perform installation, checkout, integration and testing of radar systems onboard vessels
  • Participate in System interface and integration tests
  • Work with platform contractor in shipyard for mechanical installation and cabling works
  • Setup the radar system, align, calibrate and perform checks to prepare for acceptance tests
  • Conduct acceptance tests in harbour and performance tests at sea
  • Evaluate system performance and generate test reports
  • Support end-users to resolve technical and maintenance issues during System warranty
  • Manage and coordinate with stakeholders for other Integrated Logistics Support activities
  • Interface with other technical support personnel, engineering and product management to escalate and resolve issues
  • Monitor system performance and make continuous improvement
  • Determine and implement specific technical needs to improve reliability and maintainability
  • Track and report project/service status
  • Establish close collaboration with stakeholders and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Support bids activities when required

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical & Electronic or Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ engineering experience working in Communication/Surveillance/Sensors projects. Experience working on radar systems onboard vessels will be preferred.
  • Require knowledge on Linux system, Wireshark tool, network and cybersecurity
  • Experience in performing system maintenance and handling of SLA
  • Solid trouble-shooting skills and problem solving experience
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Require occasionally to work outside office hours to complete tasks in critical situations
  • Familiar with defence business and comfortable working on different military platforms
  • Readiness to travel overseas occasionally for trainings and meetings
  • Ability to perform software testing and can work overseas for up to 6 months is a must.
