Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Fund Launch Responsibilities (2025–2026):
- Corporate Accounting & Finance: Oversee corporate accounting, tax, and auditing processes. Act as the key liaison for external accounting providers.
- Fund Setup & Regulatory Compliance: Assist in fund license applications and ensure regulatory compliance. Support MAS reporting, surveys, and business continuity management (BCM) responses. Collaborate with external compliance providers on KYC/AML requirements.
- Operational & Administrative Support: Manage internal financial processes, including payments and vendor coordination. Provide middle and back-office support for fund establishment.
- Post-Fund Launch Responsibilities (Mid-2026 & Beyond):
- Fund & Corporate Accounting: Oversee fund accounting, tax reporting, and fund audits. Manage relationships with external fund administration and tax providers. Ensure accurate NAV calculations and performance reporting for investors.
- Investor Relations & Fund Operations: Handle fund valuation, investor reporting, and performance analysis. Serve as the primary contact for investor inquiries.
- Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Lead MAS regulatory reporting and compliance support. Manage cash flows, drawdowns, and tax incentive programs.
Key Requirements:
- Education & Professional Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate accounting, fund accounting, or middle/back-office roles within a fund management firm, investment company, or financial institution. Experience working in a MAS-regulated environment is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP) and fund accounting methodologies.
- Experience in fund administration, tax structuring, and audit processes. Proficiency in financial reporting, investor reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Soft Skills & Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for building a fund business from scratch. Proactive and adaptable, comfortable taking on both technical and operational tasks. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with external providers, investors, and regulatory bodies.
