About the role:
Ink, the world leaders in travel media, are seeking a Regional Editor to drive content across print and digital for our award-winning Business Traveller magazine within the APAC region.
The Regional Editor will take ownership of the magazine, from inception through to print. You should be a natural at coming up with and organising original, on-brand ideas (features, travel and upfront stories) and know the difference between a good story and a travel cliché. Experience in autonomously editing a print magazine and digital content is required, combined with knowledge of how to engage the reader.
The role:
- Writing stories and editing commissioned pieces so that all copy champions the brands’ tone of voice
- Producing the magazine and digital content on time and to budget
- Responsible for commissioning content in partnership with the wider BT editorial team
- Attending events and being the face/representing the brand at functions.
- Proofread, edit and improve stories/features or pieces
- Content commissioning: Identify expert contributors, oversee the commissioning process and manage budgets
- Stakeholder management: manage senior relationships, championing great content and sharing trends and best practices
- Conduct thorough research to understand the target audience, industry trends, and product features, and use this knowledge to tailor messaging and content accordingly
- Travel will be involved in the role for product launches, reviews etc. So all candidates applying must have the capacity for this
- Managing the production workflow
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with creative department, sales teams, video teams for diverse, impactful content
Required skills:
- Possess multiple years of relevant experience working in editorial
- Experience in airline and/or travel industries is preferred but not essential
- Client facing experience is necessary
- Possess excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
- Demonstrable experience in fostering collaboration and increasing impact by ensuring journalism reaches audiences across borders and language
- A portfolio of previous work demonstrating exceptional copywriting skills and experience creating content for various channels and audiences
- Prioritizing and multitasking
- Solid writing and proofing skills, as well as an unrivalled eye for detail along with critical thinking
