The Calcium Signaling Laboratory at NNI is seeking a highly motivated Research Officer. The lab focuses on studying calcium signaling pathways and their implications in neurological diseases.The selected candidate will support ongoing research projects and be responsible for:
  • Maintaining mouse and rat colonies
  • Establishing animal disease models and conducting behavioral tests
  • Performing immunohistochemical staining of brain slices
  • Conducting cell culture and transfection experiments
  • Performing biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques, including co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP), cloning, and PCR
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a biomedical background
  • Ability to perform animal experiments, particularly in models of degenerative diseases such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, vascular dementia, and Alzheimer's disease
  • Proficiency in cell culture, transfection, biochemical assays, tissue sectioning, and immunostaining
  • Ability to write reports in English
  • Patch-clamp experience is a plus
