JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Content Strategy and Planning
- Collaborate with section managers and HOD to develop content strategy and editorial calendar planning (focused on written content and photography, excluding videography).
- Collaborate with section managers to ensure content aligns with organizational goals, brand tone, and target audience.
- Plan volunteer assignments for interviews and photo documentation of events, ensuring continuity and depth in our storytelling.
- Oversee long-term editorial plans, ensuring content is timely, relevant and impactful.
2. Content Creation and Editing
- Write, edit and proofread high-quality content, including articles and reports.
- Ensure content is clear, concise and engaging while maintaining the brand's voice and message.
- Oversee the production of both written and visual content, ensuring a balanced and cohesive mix.
3. Website Content Management
- Oversee and maintain content on our official website, manage news columns, and ensure that the latest achievements and events are presented in a timely manner.
4. Chronology Record Maintenance
- Maintain a chronological record (chronology) of key events, ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for internal use.
5. Collaboration and Performance Reporting
- Coordinate with Digital Outreach and Media Relations teams to ensure editorial content supports campaigns, projects and overall brand objectives.
- Analyse content performance and adjust strategy based on data-driven insights (e.g., website traffic, audience engagement, SEO).
- Use feedback and analytics to improve content quality and impact.
6. Volunteer Training
- Provide basic training and guidance to media volunteers on interviewing, writing and content creation techniques.
- Provide editorial direction and feedback to volunteers.
7. Ad-hoc Tasks Assigned by Supervisor
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to various aspects of content creation and organizational needs as required.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in journalism, content creation, editing, or related fields (experience in the NGO sector is preferred).
- Excellent writing and editing skills in Chinese, with the ability to craft compelling stories that engage and inspire the audience.
- Proficiency in editing written Chinese content, including news, articles, and reports.
- Ability to develop and implement long-term content strategies.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork abilities, with experience working with volunteers and other team members.
- Willingness to work outside office hours occasionally, with time-off provided as compensation.
