
Senior System Engineer (2 Year Contract)
Job Summary
You will be working with our client who are well renowned in the public and financial sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows server and virtualisation environments
- Manage and optimise VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies
- Oversee the administration of Critical Infrastructure systems, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement automation strategies using tools such as Ansible and PowerShell scripting
- Manage and maintain identity and access management solutions, including CyberArk
- Lead the migration of on-premises workloads to AWS cloud environments
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members
- Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for critical incidents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver IT projects and initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Windows server administration and virtualisation technologies
- Strong expertise in VMware technologies, including vSphere and vCenter
- Experience managing Critical Infrastructure systems
- Proficiency in automation and scripting, particularly with Ansible and PowerShell
- Hands-on experience with identity and access management solutions, preferably CyberArk
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services and migration strategies
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies
- Experience with monitoring and performance tuning of Windows environments
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP, AWS certifications) are preferred
