We are seeking an experienced Chef to be in charge of managing the kitchen of a Café with a novel concept located in a trendy neighbourhood close to CBD.

You should have the following experience:

 Be fully aware and well trained to prepare every item in the menu.

 Experienced in western cuisine.

 At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a restaurant, Café or similar hospitality setting, or proven work experience for at least 4 years as CDP/cook in Italian/Spanish/French/Greek cuisine.

 Strong leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Passion for creating great food and creating high quality dishes.

 Knowledge of safety and hygiene preferably with WSQ food safety level 1.

 A certificate or diploma in culinary arts is advantageous.

Your responsibilities include:

 Supervise and direct kitchen staff.

 Develop a strong knowledge of all menu items.

 Ensure strict adherence to kitchen SOP’s.

 Daily operations include timely delivery and consistent quality of food.

 Setup kitchen equipment.

 Gather necessary ingredients to prepare mis-en-place and cook food according to menu in a timely manner.

 Ensure appealing presentation of food.

 Able to slightly modify recipes according to customers’ special requests if necessary.

 Check stock and order necessary items.

 Adhere to health and safety standards required of kitchen staff as directed by government authorities.

 Uphold safety and sanitation best practices to maintain a safe, clean, and organised kitchen environment maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and all food preparation areas.

 Conduct stock taking, manage inventory and handle supply orders to support smooth operations.

 Handle any kitchen related issues efficiently and assist in other areas when required.

 Check freshness of food.

 Hands on experience with various kitchen equipment.

 Ensure cost control and minimise waste.

 Train and supervise kitchen staff.

 Collaborate with Bakery team in connection with baked products included in the menu.

 Liaise with Café Manager and front of house staff.

 Oversee inventory management and ensure efficient ordering and stock control.
