Part of a support team, the Cloud DBA (database administrator) will:

  • Manage and optimize cloud databases across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and data security.
  • Set up database backup, recovery, and access control.

Role and responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain custom databases (Amazon Aurora, Azure Cosmos DB, Google Cloud Spanner).
  • Set up and manage relational databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Set up and manage non-relational databases (DynamoDB, Bigtable, Cosmos DB).
  • Database Security & Access Control:
  • Configure user access rights, privileges, and authentication policies.
  • Monitor database storage and space utilization.
  • Ensure database encryption and compliance with security standards.
  • Database Performance & Troubleshooting:
  • Optimize database performance tuning and query optimizations.
  • Work with Authority-appointed suppliers to resolve database-related issues.
  • Database Backup & Recovery:
  • Implement database snapshot backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain version control and redundancy strategies.

Requirements

  • Required Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.
  • Minimum 1 year experience managing databases in cloud infrastructure..
  • Strong knowledge in MSSQL.
  • Knowledge of MariaDB, Azure Cosmos DB or PostgreSQL would be an added advantage.
  • Nice to have: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database
