Legal Counsel - Data Privacy & Commercial, 2-5PQE
An exciting opportunity is available for a lawyer to provide comprehensive legal support across commercial, operational, compliance, and regulatory matters. This role will be part of a team that plays a key role in managing data protection initiatives for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including procurement, licensing, collaborations, and development projects.
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance on business operations and compliance issues.
- Support and enhance the company's Data Protection Management Programme, including advising on new initiatives, conducting impact assessments, managing incident response, and developing policies and training.
Requirements:
- You should have at least 3PQE in an in-house legal team or law firm, with expertise in privacy and commercial matters.
- The ability to provide clear, practical legal advice under time-sensitive conditions and possess excellent drafting and communication skills, particularly when conveying legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Experience in data protection is highly advantageous, and certifications such as CIPP/A or CIPP/E would be a plus.
- A collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential for success in this role.
