Senior Construction Project Support Specialist

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of construction projects within the port, ensuring alignment with overall operational goals and timelines.
• Supervise construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality control protocols, minimizing delays and cost overruns.
• Prepare detailed project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure that construction projects are completed within the allocated financial resources, making cost-effective recommendations when necessary.
• Oversee and manage contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring their performance meets contract terms and that work is completed as per agreed schedules and specifications.
• Review and approve technical designs and engineering drawings related to construction projects, ensuring structural integrity, functionality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Ensure that construction activities comply with all relevant local, national, and international regulations, including obtaining necessary permits and liaising with regulatory bodies.
• Identify potential risks related to construction work (e.g., safety hazards, environmental concerns) and develop mitigation strategies to prevent accidents or delays.
• Act as the primary point of contact between project teams, management, and external stakeholders (e.g., port authorities, contractors, government agencies), providing regular progress updates and resolving any issues promptly.
• Ensure that completed construction projects integrate smoothly with existing port infrastructure and operational workflows, optimizing functionality and long-term sustainability.
• Maintain detailed records of project milestones, materials used, and compliance checks. Oversee the final handover of completed projects, ensuring all documentation is in place for ongoing operation and future maintenance

Requirements:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Facilities Maintenance or Building Services
• At least 5 years of either project management experience in the construction industry or facilities maintenance experience in commercial/industrial buildings
