
Network Engineer
Manage wired and wireless network access infrastructure; and support Data Centre network operations
1. Administer and support network infrastructure including network routers, switches, wireless access points, WLAN controllers, AAA servers and encryptors
2. Respond and diagnose tickets related to network access and performance issues
a. Service and close support tickets to relocate or add client endpoints' wired network access
b. Service and close support tickets to resolve client endpoints' wireless access
3. Troubleshoot, triage and resolve client endpoints' 802.1X authentication/authorization access issues and escalate, if necessary, L2 and L3 issues
4. Monitor availability of network access and provide immediate response and/or investigation to system alerts
5. Troubleshoot and assist with root cause analysis of incidents replacing failed network components
6. Support and perform routine automation tasks to ensure compliance for secure configuration, configuration backup management and routine firmware upgrades/updates
7. Manage operational activities and implement changes
8. Track network equipment support lifecycle, procure and support refresh activities to project closure and payment
9. Track equipment maintenance support agreements and telco circuits contracts, procure contract renewal and make payment
10. Support project teams in the delivery of wider IT services
Manage Network Comms Rooms at sites and Data Centres
11. Standardise and provision cable interconnects for network access and Data Centre
12. Respond and attend to alerts to resolve UPS and PDU faults
13. Work with contractors to replace faulty rackmount UPS and PDU for Network Comms Rooms
14. Interface and coordinate with Facilities Management for M&E issues (air-con, electrical, fire safety) for Network Comms Rooms
15. Escort external vendors/contractors for network related activities
Inventory and Documentation
16. Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of the environment
17. Maintain up-to-date documentation on rack layout and cabling interconnects
18. Manage and maintain up-to-date inventory control
19. Perform periodic inventory audits and review
20. Adhere to organisation procedure to retire obsoleted equipment
Requirements:
• Singaporean only
• Diploma or Degree holders with 1 to 2 years of working network experience in management of LAN and WAN environment
• Preferably with formal technical certification such as Cisco CCNA
• Experience in scripting and programming with network automation tooling on Ansible, Python, Terraform, GitLab is a plus
• Strong customer service orientation with good communication skills
• Self-motivated with attention to details
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
Good working knowledge of networking protocols on
• TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, Spanning Tree, 802.1X, HSRP/VRRP, 802.11x Wi-Fi static routes, OSPF, EIGRP
• Good working knowledge and hands-on experience in network administration and support of
a. Cisco routers and switches
b. Cisco Wireless Access Points
c. Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
d. Cisco ISE (Identity Service Engine)
e. Network monitoring solutions such as CheckmK
f. WAN and Internet access services
