It comprises of 16 medical practices with ambitions to scale to 50 and more owned clinics, and a large network of affiliate partners. Bridgepoint Health is committed to the practice of family medicine that is augmented by appropriate specialist care and supported by ancillary services. As a platform, Bridgepoint Health will support scaled and efficient clinic operations, contract directly with government and private payers and employers, and create long-term value through new commercial arrangements where providers are reimbursed based on outcomes tied to total cost of care.
Mission of the Role of CEO
- Acquire and integrate primary care practices into a high performing organization that can operate at scale in an integrated network with specialists and ancillary services as a partner to payers, employers, and hospital systems.
- Build a healthcare platform to function as a management services organization (MSO) to support owned clinics and a large network of affiliate clinics, and to contract directly for the provision of services.
- Optimise operations within a fee for service environment while developing capabilities to support fee for value reimbursement structures such as pay for performance, accountable care organisations, and capitated/risk arrangement.
- Develop an effective leadership team and corporate culture to achieve the organisation’s mission.
The Job
Strategic Leadership and Execution
- Developing and executing the strategic direction for the organization.
- Building out an effective leadership team that can operate effectively and achieve the organization’s goals.
- Communicate internally and externally to build collaborative relationships to support the organization and it’s goals.
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and service expansion in value-based healthcare.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers (public and private care), government agencies, and community organizations.
Operational & Financial Management
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and resource allocation.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to government regulations, accreditation standards, and legal requirements.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based care.
- Implement policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.
People Development
- Develop a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Ensure succession planning is in placed to ensure talent development.
Board and Stakeholder Engagement
- Encourages active board engagement by fostering a collaborative and informed decision-making culture.
- Works closely with the board chair to plan effective board meetings and agendas.
- Build partnerships with government agencies, hospitals groups to improve healthcare access.
- Advocate for policies that support primary healthcare initiatives.
Innovation & Technology
- Drive the adoption of healthcare technology, including electronic health records.
- Implement digital health solutions to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging healthcare innovations.
The Person
- MBA in Business.
- More than 25 years relevant experience.
- Experience in operating primary care clinics both in a fee for service environment as well as with fee for value schemes such as pay for performance, Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) or capitated/risk arrangements.
- Development of an operational platform that supports taking financial risk, clinical performance and supports physician decision making and workflow.
- Experience with acquisitions of small to mid-size physician practices including valuation, diligence and integration.
- Management of the financials of a multi-million-dollar profit and loss statement for a multi-site/multi-market operation.
- Proven ability to lead a large leadership team of physicians, clinical and financial team members.
- Experience moving business from start up to being able to operate at scale.
- Experience with developing an integrated health care network including hospitals, specialists and ancillary services.
- Experience with payer systems, processes and health care financing.
- History developing strategies that maximize NPS in the health care environment.
- Knowledge of building out technology solutions for physician practices including CMS, Practice Management and Financial Support Systems.
- Experience working with government entities, regulators and clinical and operational compliance.
