Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and managing the shipment of goods to and from various locations.
  • Ensuring that all shipping operations comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Negotiating contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and other shipping service providers
  • Must be a highly organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to network and develop relationships with shipping lines.
  • Tracking shipments and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Communicating with customers and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Managing and resolving any shipping-related issues or concerns that arise.
  • Strong working knowledge of cross-border logistics including import/export and customs clearance.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure that shipping services meet the needs of the business and its customers.
  • Managing shipping budgets and ensuring that shipping costs are kept within budgetary constraints.
  • Able to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize shipping efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in sea freight / logistic department/freight forwarding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with carriers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using Portnet and TradeNet systems will be preferred.
  • Proficiency with shipping management software and other relevant technology.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping, such as those related to safety, security, and hazardous materials.
  • Able to work 5.5 days.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other duties in supply chain as and when may assigned by the management team.
