Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and managing the shipment of goods to and from various locations.
- Ensuring that all shipping operations comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Negotiating contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and other shipping service providers
- Must be a highly organized individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to network and develop relationships with shipping lines.
- Tracking shipments and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery
- Communicating with customers and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status and address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Managing and resolving any shipping-related issues or concerns that arise.
- Strong working knowledge of cross-border logistics including import/export and customs clearance.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure that shipping services meet the needs of the business and its customers.
- Managing shipping budgets and ensuring that shipping costs are kept within budgetary constraints.
- Able to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
- Identifying opportunities to optimize shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of working experience in sea freight / logistic department/freight forwarding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with carriers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using Portnet and TradeNet systems will be preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping management software and other relevant technology.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping, such as those related to safety, security, and hazardous materials.
- Able to work 5.5 days.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform other duties in supply chain as and when may assigned by the management team.
