Graduate Machine Learning Engineer
About Us
At First Watch, we pioneer advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect critical infrastructure. Join our team to combat evolving threats using cutting-edge machine learning and AI-driven tools.
Position Overview
We seek a motivated Graduate Machine Learning Engineer to develop ML systems that analyze security events at scale and streamline policy development using LLMs. This role offers hands-on experience in applied ML for cybersecurity, with mentorship from industry experts.
Key Responsibilities
ML-Driven Security Analysis
- Assist in designing ML models to detect anomalies in high-volume security logs, network traffic, and threat intelligence feeds.
- Implement algorithms (e.g., clustering, classification) to identify patterns in security events and reduce false positives.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to refine model outputs for actionable threat responses.
LLM Integration for Policy Development
- Develop tools leveraging large language models (LLMs) to automate security policy drafts, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Fine-tune LLMs using domain-specific datasets to improve accuracy in policy recommendations.
Collaboration & Optimization
- Work with data engineers to build pipelines for preprocessing security data (e.g., SIEM logs, firewall alerts)
- Validate model performance through statistical analysis and A/B testing, iterating based on feedback from security analysts
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with NLP/LLM tools (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain) for text generation/analysis.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, SIEM systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or projects in ML, anomaly detection, or NLP.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and big data tools (Spark, Kafka).
Soft Skills
- Curiosity to learn cybersecurity domain specifics (e.g., OT/ICS threats).
- Analytical mindset to troubleshoot model performance issues.
- Team-oriented approach to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Why Join Us?
- Join a small and growing team to challenge and grow your skills.
- Work on meaningful projects that make a real-world impact.
- Be part of a diverse and inclusive team in a vibrant work environment.
Only Singaporean / Singapore PR need apply.
