Operations Manager (Manufacturing – Precision Engineering & Metal Fabrication)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations, material resource planning, scheduling, production quality, and efficiency in the precision engineering and metal fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing production workflows, improving cycle lead times, and ensuring high-quality output to support business management systems and overall productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including material resource planning (MRP), scheduling, and deliveries to meet production demands.
- Manage throughput and cycle lead times, ensuring efficient workflows and process optimization.
- Implement and maintain production quality standards, ensuring compliance with ISO, AS9100, or relevant industry standards.
- Support business management systems by improving operational processes, reporting, and resource utilization.
- Monitor and drive productivity improvements, reducing waste and maximizing efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and quality teams to ensure seamless production planning and execution.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S).
- Manage factory workforce and resources, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.
- Analyze operational KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in precision engineering or metal fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of MRP, production scheduling, and process optimization.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management systems (ISO, AS9100, etc.).
- Proven leadership skills in managing production teams and improving operational efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
