Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company's operational activities, including in-house fund operations and fund accounting. The COO will ensure the efficient and effective management of the Company's infrastructure, processes, and resources, enabling the firm to achieve its strategic objectives. This role demands a strong understanding of fund management operations, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Fund Operations Management
Oversee and manage all in-house fund operations, including trade processing, portfolio administration, and investor relations.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Develop and ensure client reporting is done accurately at regular intervals.
Manage relationships with external service providers, including custodians, administrators, and auditors.
Implement risk management and control framework.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory authorities (FATCA/ CRS etc.)
Manage the operational due diligence process for new investments.
Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
- Fund Accounting Management
Direct and supervise the in-house fund accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely NAV calculations and financial reporting.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and tax filings.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Manage the annual audit process.
- Team Leadership and Development
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
Ensure proper staffing levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. MBA or CFA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experiences in fund management operations and/or fund accounting, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, investment strategies, and regulatory requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of fund accounting principles and practices.
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in fund accounting and/or MIS software and other relevant technology.
