  • Responsible for safety & health and Fire Safety management system in compliance with Workplace Safety & Health Act, Fire Safety Act and NUS Safety & Health and Fire Safety requirements
  • Establish a framework for legal & statutory compliance through assessing the applicability of safety & health legal requirements and regulated chemicals, as well as departmental related licenses
  • Provide technical guidance on safety & health requirements, including proposing measures based on hierarchy of controls
  • Including safety & health controls on the use of flammable and hazardous gases, exhaust and abatement systems, GCs and VMBs etc.
  • Provide support to college level safety & health programmes and processes, including Secretariat for Department and College level S&H committee meetings
  • Manage laboratory/ Workshop commissioning and decommissioning
  • Assisting the license holders in maintaining and updating regulatory & statutory licenses and documentation for compliance. Oversee all internal audits and reports for compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety & health inspections and organize Safety & Health activities and events
  • Review, implement, monitor, and coordinate Safety & Health emergency preparedness. Including Fire drills/exercises and TTX.
  • Ad Hoc duties as required by the Department and Safety Committee
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, HSE or Chemistry or related subject. Those without a degree but with the relevant experience can also apply.
  • At least two years working experience in Semiconductor wafer fabrication or chemical-related workplace
  • Familiar with statutory safety & health regulations
  • Familiar with hazard identification, risk analysis and assessment methodologies
  • Good knowledge of industry standards and practices relevant to laboratory safety
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM is highly desired; Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
