This involves formulating, implementing, monitoring and revising strategies to achieve the Group’s financial objectives within its risk tolerance and other constraints.As the Group continues to enhance capabilities in Corporate Treasury (CT), there is a need for a driven and versatile candidate to work in the Wholesale Funding and CT Operating Office to support delivery of Corporate Treasury strategic initiatives. The focus of the role is on supporting senior team members in (1) cross-team initiatives within Corporate Treasury (2) engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, building processes and analytics to support these initiatives and (3) delivering on CT business management processes, such as performance measurement / scorecard-setting (4) wholesale funding market and issuance engagements, debt investor relations and governance processes.This unique role provides an opportunity to work on both the market facing execution of wholesale funding / capital transactions and the challenges in driving initiatives and planning to steer Corporate Treasury strategic direction.Key AccountabilitiesWholesale Funding * GMTN and Covered Bond programme updates
  • Project management/ co-ordination and execution of transactions (capital/wholesale funding):
a. Documentation and internal approval process for new initiatives
b. Analyse risks/ consequences of transactions (from a legal/ tax/ capital/ accounting/ booking model) and ensure all necessary operational requirements are clearly considered, executed and documented
c. Collaborate with various teams/functions within the Bank in ensuring end-to-end process of project is covered
d. Where required engage with external counterparties and advisors to successfully execute transactions * Ad-hoc projects, debt investors conversations on DBS credit story, market pricing updates and trade ideation.Corporate Treasury-COO * Frame and articulate methodology, strategy, or policy options for CT, and conduct analysis, research, and synthesis to do so; advise other CT teams and bank stakeholders on key methodologies owned by CT (e.g. Capital Benefit, Pricing Engine, etc.)
  • Partner with other CT teams to plan, scope, and project manage initiatives – including data sourcing and management, problem-solving with stakeholders and analytical modeling in a spreadsheet or other database tool (e.g. recovery contingency planning, internal audit, as product owner of Pricing Engine, for hedging strategy, etc)
  • Deliver on CT business management processes, such as performance measurement / scorecard-setting (e.g. value scorecard process)
Requirements
  • At least 3 years experience in Debt Capital Markets / Project Management / Business Management support roles
  • Work experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
  • Debt capital markets
  • Transactions and corporate structuring advisory – planning and implementation
  • Product structuring – knowledge of banking products and structures (for e.g. structured finance; pricing/ structuring of hedges) gained in a front office / bank treasury role
  • Strategy formulation and financial modelling (e.g. performing financial analyses to assess consequences of specific transactions);
  • Consulting and planning (for e.g. analyzing proposed transactions for risks from an accounting/tax/ capital perspective);
  • Effective team player and able to juggle multiple priorities and deliverables
  • Ability to problem-solve issues and comfortable operating in highly dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
