ROLE:
The Preparation Chef is responsible to support fellow Chefs to prepare ingredients, recipes and carry out kitchen prep to support the production of set menu items and the smooth running of the kitchen, whilst maintaining hygiene, cleanliness and inventory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as part of a team to prepare ingredients and carry out daily kitchen prep duties to contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen and production of set menu items.
Exceed standards of food quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
Follow best practice for ordering/receiving/handling/storing dry and fresh goods.
Implement Black Sheep Restaurants policies and procedures by developing plans/ checklists
Participate in daily, weekly and monthly stock counts, minimising wastage.
Assist with the cleaning, sanitisation and organisation of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
Learn how to properly use and maintain all kitchen and baking equipment.
Partake in ongoing on-the-job training to improve personal and team performance.
Support onboarding and welcoming new joiners.
Additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Senior Chefs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good team player.
- Can work independently.
- Some culinary working experience.
