As a member of the BII Tech-Biz team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the institute"s growth trajectory and its collaborative ventures with industry, public sector, and academic partners.

Role Overview:

We seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Manager/Senior Manager/Assistant Director. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Strategy and Tech-Biz to drive marketing and business development initiatives for the institute. You will be responsible for forging impactful partnerships, creating communication materials, and spearheading collaborations that significantly amplify the institute"s influence in the bioinformatics landscape. You are expected to have a good understanding of the science and research conducted at BII and be able to communicate this knowledge effectively to partners, ensuring alignment and fostering strong, mutually beneficial relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Director of Strategy and Tech-Biz to formulate and implement effective marketing and business development strategies.

• Prepare high-quality marketing materials and presentations for external engagements with industry stakeholders, public sector entities, and academic partners.

• Proactively engage with potential business partners, taking the lead in meetings, discussions, and workshops to drive collaboration and knowledge exchange.

• Pursue opportunities to close deals and establish strong, mutually beneficial partnerships. This includes taking the lead in crafting deal agreements and contracts, ensuring all terms are clearly defined and mutually agreeable. You will be responsible for negotiating terms, finalizing agreements, and ensuring that all parties are aligned and committed to the partnership"s success. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial.

• Track industry engagements and contract preparation status, ensuring all agreements are meticulously drafted and aligned with the institute"s performance goals.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather insights and information necessary for effective external communications.

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform the institute"s strategic decisions. Market analysis studies including market scan, competitive analysis etc.

• Contribute to the development of translational research proposals and initiatives that align with the institute"s mission and vision.

• Assist in project management tasks, including preparing agreements, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring project deliverables are met.

• Provide support in marketing activities such as organizing events, conferences, and seminars related to bioinformatics and computational biology.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master"s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline that allows candidate to be able to understand and communicate the science and technology at BII to partners.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

• Quick learner with ability to synthesize information.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

• Proven ability to create compelling and effective marketing materials and presentations.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in agreement preparation.

• Familiarity with the bioinformatics or life sciences industry is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and presentation software.

• Self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
