We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to oversee the operations of our upscale Japanese Omakase restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering an unparalleled dining experience. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service, managing staff, and maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities (e.g.: taking orders, cashiering, consolidation of daily sales, attend to reservation phone calls and serving food & beverages, etc)
  • Ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and service teams.
  • Maintain inventory levels and manage supplier relationships.
  • Monitor and control costs, sales and profit & loss to meet financial targets.
  • Ensure guests receive an exceptional and personalized dining experience.
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and care.
  • Maintain the restaurant’s reputation for excellence in service and cuisine.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor service staff.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with the chefs and service staff.
  • Schedule shifts and manage service staff performance.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Regularly review and update the menu in collaboration with the head chef.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain customers.
  • Promote the restaurant through social media, events, and partnerships.
  • Build relationships with regular customers and create loyalty programs.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a high-end Japanese or fine dining establishment.
  • Proven experience managing an Omakase or sushi restaurant is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of Japanese cuisine, particularly Omakase and sushi traditions.
  • Familiarity with premium ingredients, such as sushi-grade fish.
  • Knowledge of wine, sake, and other beverages paired with Japanese cuisine.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced F&B environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Professional demeanour and strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to commit shift work, weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications for administrative work
  • Minimum diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in food safety or hospitality are a plus.
