Van Sales Merchandiser
Position: Van Sales Merchandiser
The Van Sales Merchandiser is responsible for achieving sales and distribution targets, minimizing stock returns through regular stock rotation, and maintaining excellent client relationships. The role requires planning and execution of sales calls, implementing trade activities, and providing timely feedback on competitor activities. The position reports directly to the Senior Sales Representative and follows the company’s credit management policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Promotion
- Sell and promote travel accessories in CVS, Modern Trade, and Department Store channels.
Meet clients' needs through effective solutions and product recommendations.
Build and maintain positive business relationships to secure future sales opportunities.
Sales Planning & Execution
- Develop and follow a sales call coverage plan to ensure all assigned outlets are visited.
Execute trade activities within assigned parameters and timelines.
Track daily sales performance against targets set by the Area Manager.
Stock Management
- Monitor and recommend optimal stock levels to retailers.
Replenish stock as needed and perform stock rotations to minimize returns and expired inventory.
Ensure physical stock checks during every sales call to prevent out-of-stock (OOS) or overstock situations.
Distribution Management
- Achieve distribution targets by selling to appropriate outlets and providing relevant product recommendations.
Adhere to the daily itinerary to ensure all allocated outlets are serviced efficiently.
Trade & Retailer Engagement
- Communicate and explain trade activities to retailers clearly.
Build strong rapport with retailers to enhance long-term business relationships.
Credit & Payment Management
- Ensure strict adherence to the company's credit policies within the assigned area.
Provide timely feedback to supervisors regarding any changes in payment modes or customer payment behavior.
Seek approval for any payment changes requested by retailers.
Requirements:
- Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving targets.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of sales experience.
- Possession of a Class 3 driver's license (Company van provided; vehicle can be taken home).
- Willingness to work overtime occasionally.
Operational Qualities:
- Strong understanding of basic selling procedures.
- Ability to follow and execute the sales coverage plan effectively.
- Capability to actively monitor stock levels and sales performance.
- Consistent performance of stock rotation and replenishment during sales calls.
- Proactive in adhering to daily sales call schedules and achieving sales volume targets.
