
Quantity Surveyor (FF&E | Top Interior Design Firm | Up to $7000)
The FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) Quantity Surveyor (QS) plays a crucial role in overseeing procurement, budgeting, and cost management for FF&E within interior design projects. This role ensures that all FF&E elements are sourced, acquired, and implemented within the allocated budget while upholding high-quality standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for FF&E components based on project specifications.
- Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective procurement of FF&E items.
- Assess cost fluctuations and implement value engineering strategies where necessary.
2. Procurement & Supplier Coordination:
- Identify and source FF&E products from approved vendors while negotiating competitive rates.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards.
- Review and assess vendor proposals, ensuring alignment with project specifications and financial constraints.
3. Tendering & Contract Management:
- Prepare tender documentation, including Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for FF&E procurement.
- Evaluate vendor bids and assist in selecting suitable suppliers based on cost and quality considerations.
- Support the drafting of purchase agreements and supplier contracts.
4. Project Coordination & Documentation:
- Collaborate with interior designers, architects, and project managers to ensure FF&E specifications align with design objectives.
- Maintain detailed procurement records, tracking delivery timelines and inventory management.
- Generate financial reports, including cash flow projections and cost tracking.
5. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure all procured FF&E items meet design specifications, quality benchmarks, and project standards.
- Conduct inspections of delivered and installed FF&E to verify compliance.
- Address and resolve any procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in FF&E cost management within interior design or fit-out projects.
- Strong understanding of FF&E materials, finishes, and sourcing methodologies.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications.
