Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our team in the security industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical security systems, including access control, IP CCTV, and life safety systems. This role involves working closely with customers, project teams, and third-party stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation, commissioning, and maintenance of security systems. The Application Engineer will play a key role in troubleshooting, installation, and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Duties:- Assist with pre-builds and system configurations as required.
- Attend site meetings with customers and project management teams to analyze system requirements and provide technical recommendations.
- Develop and execute test plans, coordinate with commissioning teams, and conduct system testing.
- Participate in the preparation and coordination of detailed commissioning schedules.
- Supervise and ensure quality control during the installation of electrical and security systems.
- Oversee commissioning activities to ensure timely and effective execution within the defined technical scope.
- Conduct day-to-day coordination and documentation of commissioning work, including toolbox meetings if required.
- Investigate, diagnose, and repair system faults and issues.
- Perform on-site modifications to meet project scope and address site changes.
- Follow projects through to final adjustments, commissioning, and customer sign-off.
- Prepare snagging lists and ensure all issues are resolved.
- Participate in the preparation of manuals, test documentation, and SAT/FAT reports.
- Report areas or procedures for improvement to enhance system performance and efficiency.
- Attend customer sites to service and maintain hardware and software systems.
- Carry out preventive maintenance services for contracted customers.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the physical security industry.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong IT and networking knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with Access Control systems, Locks, and IP CCTV systems.
- Knowledge of Life Safety, Fire Detection, and Suppression Systems is preferred.
- Experience with Lenel, Genetec, and/or CCure systems is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proven troubleshooting and installation expertise.
- Ability to lead third parties and liaise with various stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
