Job Title: Onsite IT Support Engineer
Location: West - Tuas
Employment Type: Yearly Contract
Job Overview:
We are seeking a competent and proactive Onsite IT Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support for end-users. The engineer will be responsible for workstation maintenance, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and providing basic network support to ensure seamless IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite technical support to end-users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on workstations, laptops, and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Perform basic network support for L2 switches.
- Ensure that IT security follows best practices for endpoint protection.
- Support email configurations, Microsoft Office 365 applications, and common enterprise software.
- Maintain and document IT inventory, software licenses, and asset management records.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements, repairs, and procurement.
- Provide basic user training and IT guidance as needed.
- Adhere to company SLAs and IT policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITE/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support (workstations & basic network troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in Windows OS, workstation setup, and software troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of L2 network support, including switches, VLANs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, email configurations, and enterprise applications.
- Understanding of endpoint security, antivirus, and IT best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills to assist non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and escalate issues when necessary.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or ITIL Foundation are a plus.
Additional Information:
- Working Days & Hours: Monday to Friday (Full Day), Saturday (Half Day)
- Contract Duration: 1-year renewable contract
- Transportation: Company Shuttle Bus Available
