About The Team

The Search team is responsible for the systems that handle search services for billions of users on the Shopee platform, addressing challenges related to international cross-border/local market search and algorithm model training and inferencing. We are currently focused on extracting value from data, developing innovative search products for consumers, and enhancing search experience and efficiency. We welcome experienced, innovative, and capable engineers and architects to join us in creating faster, more accurate, and user-friendly search products.

Job Description

• Develop and implement state-of-the-art machine learning models to optimize retrieval and relevance modules in e-commerce search including the application of text classification, semantic-based relevance models, multi-modal and multi-lingual models, large language models, etc.
• Responsible for optimizing query understanding in e-commerce search scenarios, including query rewriting, auto-correction, query structured understanding, intent classification, etc.
• Perform fundamental research and experiment with cutting-edge NLP technologies including LLM, multi-modal pre-training models, etc.
• Optimize Search product performance and data performance through data analysis, machine learning models, and systems.
  
  

Requirements

• Be familiar with at least one of the following programming languages, C++/golang/Python, and have good knowledge of data structure and algorithms.
• Be familiar with NLP and Search retrieval, and be able to continue to follow up on cutting-edge machine learning technologies
• Applicants good at data analysis using Spark SQL/Scala are preferred.
• Sensitive to data and business, passionate about technical challenges, and have excellent critical thinking skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, able to explore new technologies with the team and promote technological progress.
