
Design Engineer
Job Summary
Working collaboratively as a member of the Engineering or Research and Development teams; actively
participates in the design, development, and testing of new products and enhancements to existing
products. Leverages engineering skills and abilities to ensure Dril-Quip products meet the demands of
the industry and our customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- This position is responsible for creating new product designs and improving existing product designs.
- Routinely interacts with customers/suppliers/vendors and assists with development of technical specifications.
- Responsible for multiple facets of a project including developmental testing, System Integrity and
- Factory Acceptance (SIT/FAT) testing and working with support groups for creating running procedures.
- Processing engineering design changes along with the review and approval of engineering drawings.
- Interfacing with other Dril-Quip departments such as manufacturing, supply chain and service.
- Responsible for suggesting and implementing approved design changes arising from Field Problem Reports.
- Participates in Engineering Design Reviews and dispositioning Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s).
- Capable of representing Engineering at Well Review meetings and verifying fit, interface, and function of relevant components within an associated system.
- Can direct and mentor less experienced engineering personnel.
- Attends and presents technical details at project meetings.
