The Opportunity:
We are seeking two Ventures Analyst as Interns who are eager to expand their knowledge and skills in the life science industry while gaining experience in corporate finance and private investments. Successful applicants will get the opportunity to get access to:
· Industry Knowledge: Dive into scientific advancements, trends in pharma and MedTech, and healthcare innovations.
· Finance Experience: Learn corporate finance, PE, and VC practices, building investment strategy and financial skills.
· VC Analyst Role: Take on entry-level VC analyst tasks, including technical and financial due diligence with senior stakeholders.
· Fundraising Insight: Gain firsthand experience with life science startup fundraising and strategic investor considerations.
· Startup Dynamics: Observe life science startups scaling, entering new markets, and achieving growth internationally.
· Entrepreneurial Mindset: Develop an entrepreneurial approach, tackling challenges and finding growth in biotech and life sciences.
· Global Network: Collaborate in a multicultural setting, expanding your global network with innovative life sciences professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
For fundraising services provided to corporates within life sciences (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, MedTech, Tech Bio, digital healthcare, life science tools & services, AgriTech):
- Conduct Technical Analysis: Analyse and evaluate corporates’ technologies based on scientific publications; identify Unique Selling Points, as well as technical and manufacturing challenges; assess regulatory landscape and routes to market, including current regulatory guidance.
- Conduct Market Analysis: Analyse market potential, market trends and competitive landscapes; assess business development strategies and market access plans.
- Learn Skills and Conduct Financial Analysis: Evaluate the financial health of companies, including burn rates and runway; conduct preliminary assessments on valuations and potential investor returns.
- Prepare Investment Documentation for Fundraising: draw-up investor-format investment documentation; prepare short- to medium-term financial and strategic improvement plans.
- Take Part in Global Investor Outreach for Fundraising: Attend meetings with potential investors; support Senior Executives in monitoring the due diligence processes and negotiating the investment terms with potential investors.
For sourcing services provided to investors (Life Science VCs, Corporate VCs, Family Offices, Agencies, High Net Worth Individuals):
- Prepare Pre-due Diligence Analysis: Draw-up investor pre-due diligence analysis based on technical, financial and market analysis; compute corporates’ investment score.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Background in:
Medicine, Pharmacy/Pharmacology
Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences
Chemical Engineering
- Master’s or PhD degree
- Authorized to work in Singapore (Singaporeans, PRs, and foreigners with valid passes for the whole duration of the internship).
- Investment, financial or consulting experience is a bonus.
- Curious, open-minded and eager to explore new things in life sciences and venture capital.
- Thoroughness with attention to detail and meticulous approach to research and analysis; strong analytical, writing and presentation skills.
- Able to synthesize new knowledge quickly, present it in a clear and easy-to understand manner.
- Team and self-starting spirit with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively contribute to our Team’s goals.
