Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop inspection and metrology machines as part of the System Engineering team.
- Integrate mechanical, mechatronic, optical, and software components for seamless system functionality.
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into detailed, measurable design specifications.
- Optimize processes and automate solutions for enhanced machine performance.
- Build and test high-speed mechatronic setups for specification validation and critical parameter analysis.
- Coordinate design and implementation efforts across Mechanical, Hardware, Optics, and Software teams.
- Integrate and assess system modules to ensure overall machine performance meets requirements.
- Validate high-speed Pick and Place handling capabilities at customer sites.
- Define and implement complex material handling flows at a detailed micro-sequence level.
- Develop and execute PLC-level test sequences for mockup validation and data collection.
- Translate test results into software requirements for system implementation.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams as a project/product owner, balancing technical, budget, timeline, and resource constraints.
Minimum Qualifications
- MS degree or BS degree with outstanding skill in electro-mechanical, electronics, software or mechanical engineering; with sound knowledge on basic software logics
- 5+ years relevant experience in an automation oriented engineering role in a high-end equipment company, covering most of following technical domains: machine conceptual and mechanical design, setting up specifications, PLC controller hardware and software design, user interface, SW (describing, testing of flows), conversion, test protocols, debugging, characterization, lead improvement projects
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Programming skills are a plus (PLC controllers, C, C++ Python, VBA, …)
- Independent thinking, challenging existing ideas and approaches
- Hands-on, self-organized, taking initiative and ownership
- Occasional travel within Asia & Europe
- Proficient in English to liaise with mainly English speaking parties within and outside of the company
