We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS services, cloud technologies, and system administration, with hands-on experience in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and availability of our cloud systems and supporting the team with new technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure software and hardware for cloud infrastructure.
- Manage servers and related technology tools, ensuring optimal performance.
- Set up cloud accounts, servers, and cloud-based applications.
- Monitor cloud system performance and ensure compliance with security and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues impacting service levels, conducting root cause analysis as necessary.
- Implement security measures including access controls, backups, firewalls, and regular vulnerability assessments.
- Manage monthly patching schedules and ensure systems are regularly updated with new releases and models.
- Respond promptly to incidents, service requests, and maintain high service availability.
- Research and recommend new cloud technologies and approaches to improve system performance.
- Provide technical support to internal teams during office hours and after-hours support as required.
- Develop and deliver staff training on new technologies and cloud platforms.
- Maintain internal documentation, manuals, and IT policies for cloud systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in the administration of On-Premise Servers and Cloud Operations (AWS and Azure).
- Proficient in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Storage Gateway, S3, Glacier, EBS) and SysOps Administrator certification.
- Strong experience with IAM, ECS, EKS, and working knowledge of Route Tables, NACL, Security Groups, NSG.
- Familiarity with DevOps processes and CI/CD pipeline management.
- Expertise with Terraform and Ship/Hats for cloud automation.
- Experience with both Linux and Windows platforms, including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022.
- Solid working experience with virtualization platforms (Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware ESXi & vCenter, Nutanix).
- Expertise in Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, IIS, SCCM, WSUS, and Windows Cluster.
- Familiarity with backup solutions like Commvault/NetBackup/Veritas is a plus.
- Experience in using TrendMicro/Symantec Anti-virus products is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Windows scripting and PowerShell or similar scripting languages.
- Ability to troubleshoot and manage demanding service recovery turnaround times.
- Strong understanding of Application tiers, IIS, and database management.
- Exposure to Cloud automation tools like Chef, Terraform is beneficial.
- Basic networking knowledge and willingness to be cross-trained in Linux/Unix environments.
- Ability to manage daily support tasks with strict SLA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS SysOps Administrator Certified or Azure Administrator Certified (Mandatory).
- Familiarity with Change Management processes.
- Experience in working within a WOG (Whole of Government) environment is a plus.
- Certification in RHEL, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or ITIL is a plus.
