What the role is:You oversee the Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) community engagement efforts, developing approaches and initiatives while working with various stakeholders to achieve strategic communication objectives.What you will be working on:- Develop and review the community engagement approach to ensure sustained, meaningful engagement between the RSN and our identified target audiences - Work closely with external agencies including government partners, and internal units to plan and execute community engagement events/initiatives, including Navy outreach programmes such as Navy@Vivo and IMDEX - Work with the Public Relations Section on public-relations matters, including media operations on profiling of the RSN based on the identified strategic communications focus areas - Identify useful opportunities/activities to engage the stakeholders beyond those planned in the community engagement framework Challenge(s) - Translating the RSN's defence role into effective engagement strategies - Working independently to coordinate and deliver impactful community engagement outcomesWhat we are looking for:- Education in Mass Communications or Strategic Communications - At least 3 years of experience in communications industry is preferred - Experience and expertise in public relations and stakeholder engagement is advantageousAbout MINDEF:The mission of MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces is to enhance Singapore's peace and security through deterrence and diplomacy, and should these fail, to secure a swift and decisive victory over the aggressor.
