Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is looking for a Research Assistant to contribute to a new research project on the impacts of generative artificial intelligence tools on visual effects practitioners in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and summarizing relevant academic and grey literature on topics relating to creative labour, creative industries, and artificial intelligence.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of data collection, e.g. focus group discussions and/or expert interviews.
  • Conduct and interpret qualitative data analyses for academic publications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscript drafts for academic publications.
  • Assist in administrative and project management tasks relevant to this project, including but not limited to correspondence with research participants and disbursement of participant incentives.
  • Managing a small team of student research assistants.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a humanities and social science discipline.
  • Experience with qualitative discourse analysis methods and software (e.g. NVivo, Atlas.ti) preferred.
  • Experience with ethnographic methods preferred, including but not limited to: conducting expert interviews,
  • surveys, and focus group discussions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
