Supplier and Market Research
- Identify Potential Suppliers: Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on company needs, tender requirements, and industry trends.
- Market and Competitor Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging suppliers. Investigate material origins and production advantages to enhance sourcing capabilities.
- Goods and Services Acquisition: Source and purchase goods, components, machinery, equipment, or services to meet specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Liaison for Procurement Processes: Serve as the primary interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders for new projects and ongoing procurement activities.
- Cost Evaluation: Provide detailed cost analyses for both new and existing suppliers while reviewing cost reduction opportunities.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts to secure optimal pricing, favorable terms, and overall cost savings. Identify further opportunities to generate business savings through best procurement practices.
- Optimize Supplier Base: Build, manage, and continuously evaluate supplier relationships to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and reliable service.
- Supplier Performance: Enhance the supplier base by sourcing, evaluating, and retaining suppliers aligned with company standards and goals.
- Efficiency Initiatives: Drive continuous improvements in the sourcing process to boost overall efficiency.
- Timely Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive cost analyses, reports, and departmental documentation accurately and on schedule.
- Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall procurement function.
- Basic understanding in ERP/MRP/SAP to identify areas of inefficiency within the sourcing process and implement procurement technology solutions to optimize performance.
- Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical/ Mechatronic/ M&E (a Certificate in Purchasing and Negotiation is preferred).
- Experience: At least 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Core Competencies: Demonstrated experience in purchasing and negotiation.
- Analytical Skills: Basic analytical abilities.
