Category Manager, Global Procurement
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy incorporation into sourcing projects (20% of time)
- Collaborates with Strategic Planning lead to ensure the smooth translation & delivery of Category Strategy tactics for individual sourcing events, contracting efforts and supplier initiatives.
End-to-end execution sourcing projects (75% of time)
Manages the planning and execution of category sourcing projects, including but not limited to:
- Determines qualified suppliers based on research, Category Strategy RFI results, etc.
- Creates an action plan for executing sourcing strategy
- Develops Request for Proposal (RFP) bid package and execute RFP
- Develops quantitative / qualitative tools for scoring RFP and other materials
- Prepares for and conduct supplier negotiations based on RFP results
- Analyzes post-negotiations pricing considerations as needed
- Develops award scenarios based on results of sourcing event
- Supports supplier selection process and issue award decisions
- Develops Value Capture Form (VCF) based on supplier selection(s)
- Oversees contracting process performed by Strategic Sourcing support members
- Deliver or participate in non-sourcing category-related initiatives.
- Develop Key stakeholder (internal & external) relationships in close collaboration with strategic sourcing teams to maximize the value of negotiation events.
- Compile category-specific RFX templates and playbooks
Other Responsibilities (5% of time)
- Provides talent management support for junior Strategic Sourcing staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive understanding of Master Category Strategy elements and development process
- Extensive strategic sourcing execution experience
- Project and team management experience
- Strong data and analytics execution skills (e.g., complex TCO modeling)
- Ability to interpret member firm needs and commercial strategies as input into the category strategy
- Strong interpersonal skills to drive coordination between legal and business stakeholders for contract completion
