The Capricorn Group is a financial services organization based in Whangarei, New Zealand. Through its various operating divisions, the Capricorn Group offers everything from Accounting & Taxation services, through to Company Formations and Financial Planning advice.

The role:

As a registered Accountant you will be in charge of ensuring proper accounting for the company and our clients that are registered in Singapore. This is a role for an individual to take care only of our Singapore companies.

The Responsibilities:

  • Maintains full set of accounts for us and clients
  • Manages all financial and accounting transactions
  • Prepares timely monthly and annual closing
  • Computes taxes and prepare tax returns
  • Manages balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  • Reconciles accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare Payslip and Payroll for us and clients
  • Maintains ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks
  • Support annual audit preparation with external auditors (when required).
  • Maintains financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  • Supports creation of SOPs for accounting policy and regulations and roll out reconciliation procedures
  • Keeps books and systems up to date
  • Stay updated on statutory requirements/ legislations and Government funding schemes
  • Perform other accounting duties as required
  • Big plus: capable of executing full suite of corporate secretarial services.

The Requirements:

  • MUST be a public accountant registered under the Accountants Act OR a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants OR a member of the Association of International Accountants (Singapore Branch) OR a member of the Institute of Company Accountants, Singapore
  • Working knowledge of relevant provisions of Singapore Companies Act
  • Thick skin and amazing communication skills. Clients can be nice or rude, get ready for it
  • Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently and meticulously under tight deadlines
  • Singaporean or PR
  • Relevant experience in corporate secretarial firms is a plus
