Accountant/ Senior Financial Controller
The Capricorn Group is a financial services organization based in Whangarei, New Zealand. Through its various operating divisions, the Capricorn Group offers everything from Accounting & Taxation services, through to Company Formations and Financial Planning advice.
The role:
As a registered Accountant you will be in charge of ensuring proper accounting for the company and our clients that are registered in Singapore. This is a role for an individual to take care only of our Singapore companies.
The Responsibilities:
- Maintains full set of accounts for us and clients
- Manages all financial and accounting transactions
- Prepares timely monthly and annual closing
- Computes taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manages balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Reconciles accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare Payslip and Payroll for us and clients
- Maintains ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks
- Support annual audit preparation with external auditors (when required).
- Maintains financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Supports creation of SOPs for accounting policy and regulations and roll out reconciliation procedures
- Keeps books and systems up to date
- Stay updated on statutory requirements/ legislations and Government funding schemes
- Perform other accounting duties as required
- Big plus: capable of executing full suite of corporate secretarial services.
The Requirements:
- MUST be a public accountant registered under the Accountants Act OR a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants OR a member of the Association of International Accountants (Singapore Branch) OR a member of the Institute of Company Accountants, Singapore
- Working knowledge of relevant provisions of Singapore Companies Act
- Thick skin and amazing communication skills. Clients can be nice or rude, get ready for it
- Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently and meticulously under tight deadlines
- Singaporean or PR
- Relevant experience in corporate secretarial firms is a plus
