Job Responsibilities:
Create and flesh out volunteer roles for public libraries that align with operational needs, and establish clear responsibilities and expectations of volunteers
Develop and implement strategies to attract, recruit, and retain volunteers for public library initiatives, focusing on building a reliable and stable pool of regular contributors
Conduct onsite visits to libraries to assess volunteer operation at branches and identify areas for improvement.
Review and refine onboarding processes and approaches for all volunteers, both new and experienced
Implement volunteer orientation programmes, including targeted training sessions, where applicable
Plan and coordinate volunteer networking sessions to strengthen commitment among volunteers.
Foster an environment of cooperation among volunteers
Job Requirements:
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in volunteer management/engagement.
Resourceful; willing to experiment, work with limited resources
Good interpersonal skills, enjoys engaging volunteers interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and age levels
Experience in recruiting, training, supervising, and engagement of volunteers
