JOB PURPOSE:
To comply with RTS General Specification (GS), G14.5.1 At all times throughout the execution of the Contract, the Subcontractor shall engage sufficient safety and health Key Personnel with the necessary skills and experience to cover the work and operations being carried out by the Subcontractor.
Requirement from local authority (Ministry of Manpower Singapore) for appointment of Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSH Coordinator) to proceed for installation and construction of communication system work for RTS Project

JOB SUMMARY/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To advise employer on the measures to be taken in the interest of Safety, Health & Environment of the person employed in the place of work specifically for RTS project.
2. Assist WSHO to setting up Safety, Health & Environment Management System (SHEMS) activities in the company for RTS project purpose.
3. Ensure the monitoring, assessment and regular inspection conducted to identify the various hazards, assess risk level and recommended suitable control measures.
4. Managing and evaluating workers and coordinating with site operation team and suppliers.
5. To assist investigation of any accident, near miss, dangerous occurrence, ill health, occupational poisoning or disease if happen at project site.
6. Implement and maintain Safety, Health & Environment Management System (SHEMS) activities in the company for RTS project purpose.
7. to ensure effective safety supervision on site during all working hours.
8. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the superior(s) from time to time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential

  • Minimum Degree or Diploma in Engineering / OSH preferred or certificate in Safety & Health Officer course or equivalent.
  • Possesses WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health
  • Preferred : Workplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry

Experience
Essential : Minimum 1 year
Preferred : Construction Engineering & Construction Railway Operation

Knowledge & skills required
General : Microsoft words
Technical : Familiar with Workplace Safety and Health Act, SHE Inspection, Plant and machineries

  • An enterprising go-getter with strong business acumen, and thirst for challenges
  • Must be a strong self-starter and have a proactive “can-do” attitude, with the ability to work through constraints and ambiguities and deliver high-quality results
