Job Description
The Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing Food – APMEA Proteins will be a key member of the Global Protein Team, that will develop and implement a “best in class” proteins strategy for APMEA.
This strategy will deliver a more resilient supply chain for our protein products across APMEA by supporting our customer needs and expectations and creating the greatest value to our business. The Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing Food – APMEA Proteins reports to the Director, Global Strategic Sourcing Food – APMEA Proteins
This position is intended to deliver competitive advantage to McDonald’s. Scope is APMEA and doesn’t require relocation, however due to its responsibilities, the candidate should be APMEA based.
You will be responsible for:
- Design, develop and implement a APMEA protein strategy across the value chain that delivers on the category vision to collaborate across all 3 legs of the stool to grow a more resilient protein supply chain that is safe and sustainable, delivers high quality and builds value while ensuring brand protection
- Manage global supplier relationships across the protein category to drive enhanced resiliency and performance across contingency planning and testing, cost savings and digitalization.
- Collaborate with the proteins team to build long term supply solutions that improve resiliency of the raw material supply chain, given its global nature and opportunities
- Lead and execute regional RFP’s and manage supplier pricing protocol agreements
- Lead pricing and communications across APMEA markets
Key Success Measures:
- Able to build resiliency into the supply chain, including strengthening and testing contingency plans for assured Supply; enhancing brand trust; and ensuring competitiveness of total cost to serve without impacting quality, food safety and social workplace accountability
- Able to build strong business relations with markets (including teams in DL markets), global suppliers, Global Protein team, Field Service and across the GSC functions
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management and drive suppliers to self-managed excellence
- Able to demonstrate continuous improvements across the protein supply chain
- Able to bring creative and innovative ideas to life using market experience
- Uses data to develop strong business insights and actionable solutions
- Understanding of sustainability and how to incorporate it into product sourcing strategies by making it commercially viable
- Understands and lives the McDonald’s values everyday: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, Family
Qualifications
- Food Supply Chain experience and knowledge of global supply issues required
- Experience in proteins sourcing is preferred
- BA/BS in supply chain management, economics, management and/or agriculture or related field preferred
- Experience in developing product sourcing strategies is a must
- Must have strong analytical, negotiation, organizational and leadership skills
- Able to work with cross functional departments within the organization
- Good problem-solving skills and corrective action/resolution skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Experience in working in a strong team environment
- Strategic Partnering is a must
- Must have the ability to function within a team-oriented environment and collaborate on multidisciplinary efforts across geographies
- Understanding sustainability and how to incorporate it into product strategies is a plus
- Experience of working in “agile” environments is a plus
- Able to travel internationally
