We are seeking a proficient and detail-oriented Accountant with at least 3 years of experience, particularly in auditing, taxation, and corporate secretarial functions. The successful candidate will review financial processes, ensure adherence to tax regulations, support corporate secretarial and governance activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant tax regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Audit & Internal Audit
- Conduct and assist in internal audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
- Liaise with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and provide required documentation.
- Identify areas of risk and suggest improvements to internal controls.
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse budget variances and prepare detailed variance reports for management.
- Taxation
- Manage tax filings and compliance with local regulations.
- Prepare and review tax returns, including GST, corporate income tax, and withholding tax.
- Ensure timely submission of all tax-related documents and compliance with filing deadlines.
- Corporate Secretarial Duties
- Assist in managing corporate governance, including maintaining statutory registers and records.
- Prepare resolutions, minutes of meetings, and other corporate secretarial documents.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and assist in regulatory filings.
- General Accounting Functions
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Support cash flow management and banking transactions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, with hands-on experience in audit.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, taxation, and corporate secretarial practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Possess analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
- Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations is required.
- Professional certification such as CA, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage but not mandatory.
