As an Automation Engineer (Project) at Molex Singapore, you will be an integral part of the Engineering team, leading the charge in developing innovative automated manufacturing solutions. Your role will involve managing projects from conception through to mass production, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will also handle drawing changes due to product revisions, alterations, and the introduction of new variants, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Our Team
You will be part of the DataCom and Specialty Solutions Division, collaborating extensively with internal departments and external vendors and suppliers. Your role will involve working across different areas such as Machine Design, Controls, Vision, Debug, Production, and Process Development to deliver high-quality automation solutions.
What You Will Do
- Integrate automation processes for semi-automated and fully automated machines or fixtures for new products, ensuring both quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop process operation sequences and functional specifications for manufacturing, preparing necessary documents like scopes of work and bills of material.
- Review product drawings for manufacturing feasibility and oversee the machine build-up and development, maintaining schedules and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support during machine assembly or debugging phases, and report project progress to supervisors and project managers.
- Coordinate with control and debug teams to document design changes, maintain contact with supervisors and project managers, and liaise with Final Assembly production for process qualification during new product launches.
- Implement short-term SPC for new products to establish process capability and apply new technologies to enhance efficiency and capability, thereby increasing profitability.
- Share knowledge and ideas to solve manufacturing problems, gather best practices, and comply with laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Diploma or Degree in an Engineering field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and use CAD software.
- Proficient in Six Sigma and statistics, with the ability to specify experimental programs and analyze results.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Preferably with a background in Mechanical or Manufacturing fields.
- Experience in Precision Automation or Connector process work.
- Knowledge and experience using NX software and SPC or statistical control in manufacturing processes.
- Proven track record in coordinating multiple projects within a year.
