Mission Statement
The Global Technical Training Lead plays a crucial role in defining technical competency development and Continuous Improvement (CIMP) program implementation within Air Liquide Advanced Materials (ALAM). This role involves developing, leading, and implementing the overall technical training strategy, road map, and programs, as well as global CIMP (including replication) projects. The position holder will champion technical and CIMP methodology training as the cornerstone for sustaining profitable growth, enhancing employee experience (EX), optimizing customer experience (CX), and achieving significant efficiencies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Global Technical Training Lead collaborates with all business functions, notably Country General Managers (GMs), Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES), Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, Research & Development (R&D) (Chemistry Technology Development and Process Development), and Human Resources (HR). Responsibilities include:
Industrial Management System (IMS) of ALAM: Serve as the global process owner of IMS within ALAM, designing and implementing this process, which includes but is not limited to competency management programs and required qualifications for specific jobs and tasks.
Training & Development: Drive the technical knowledge management initiative at ALAM, identify critical competencies/needs per domain, identify potential experts and trainers, and develop/manage/groom experts for Air Liquide’s Technical Community Leaders (TCL) in close coordination with stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and execute training programs aligned with the Training Need Analysis and the Ambition of ALAM, partnering with internal and external resources/stakeholders to continuously improve training delivery.
- Lead the technical training, development, and qualification program for the ALAM Operations team globally, leveraging expertise to support operations.
- Contribute to the individual development plans of targeted key personnel as applicable.
- Provide prompt and effective feedback on training and development programs.
- Design and develop Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards for the technical talent development program.
CIMP Program Management: Drive the overall implementation of CIMP (including replication) projects in close coordination with all stakeholders, including Country GMs and site leaders. Lead the governance of CIMP program implementation and run the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle to continuously improve CIMP program effectiveness at ALAM.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Significant experience in technical and operational training management and programs within multinational companies is required. Experience in the fine chemistry industry (or similar) is preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
- Strong passion for training and nurturing talent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at multiple levels within the business.
