
Senior Manager – Food Applications & Innovation
Job summary
Drive innovation in food product development using U.S. dairy, optimize formulations, provide technical support, and collaborate with industry experts
The position reports to the Senior Director – Food Applications/Innovation and Regional Director.
Estimate 15-25% travel working with partners and customers across the Southeast Asia region.
Innovation and Technical Support
- Drive innovation strategies, identifying trends and opportunities. Develop and manage budgets for innovation projects
- Design and execute product prototypes and trials. Test and refine products for taste, texture, appearance through sensory evaluation and ensure and for safety and shelf-life of product prototypes.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize existing and develop S.E. Asian-friendly products with U.S. dairy ingredients to meet consumers' desired application needs based on insights.
- Conduct joint product application or technical research and innovation projects with academic or innovation-centric institutions and health & nutrition professionals benchmarking U.S. product performance, functionality, and sensory characteristics
- Serves as a dairy products and food processing subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support regional marketing programs and activities and conduct workshops.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging ingredients, and technologies.
Technical Support and Servicing
- Assist in the strategic development of customer applications and technical curriculum along with expansion to drive customer engagement and U.S. dairy product adoption.
- Provides technical consultation to food and beverage manufacturers on the development process from ideation to commercialization on applications containing US-sourced dairy.
- Provide customer support for evaluation protocols of new U.S. dairy ingredients.
- Conduct technical 1-on-1 consultations with end-users, importers, and key food processor influencers. Assists Food Innovators in formulation and scale-up of applications containing dairy through technical servicing and in-house training with U.S dairy.
- Identify dairy product specifications required by end-users and key attribute ranges within process capability for new and or improved dairy containing applications and concepts, in partnership with the end-users and members in the market.
- Provides recommendations on ingredient functionality to optimize new product performance.
- Coordinate work of consulting technicians, partnerships, and others who assist in specific projects.
- Maintains technical documentation on all activities.
- Provide coaching and support to the Food Technologist on the day-to-day work.
Technical Personal Development
- Knowledge and technical skills transfer from the Senior Director.
- Learning to develop and build the technical capabilities of the SE Asia program to meet the needs of the strategic plan for the Marketing programs.
Additional duties
With reasonable prior notice, may be required to work within SE Asia on projects or other activities beyond SE Asia , which could include related training programs that are run within the region.
Education and Experiences
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Food Technology or related fields
- 10 to 15 years of working experience in food product development and innovation. Experience of dairy products, and dairy ingredients applications on Food & Beverage preferred.
- Creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with scaling and bringing formulations from concept to consumer.
- Strong knowledge of food science and nutrition
- Demonstrate technical abilities in formulation, sensory evaluation, and pilot-scale to commercialization.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $8,500.00 - $11,000.00 per month
