Job Responsibilities:

  • Enforce site-specific EHS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with both country and corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard identification on-site, effectively managing high-risk activities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure that all operations adhere to local and site-specific EHS regulations and facilitate inspections by regulatory authorities.
  • Lead thorough investigations of incidents and near-misses, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented.
  • Perform regular EHS audits and inspections, ensuring full compliance with safety standards, equipment regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Deliver ongoing EHS training sessions to site workers, covering essential topics like fire safety, first aid, PPE usage, and the handling of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, including maintaining fire exit routes, emergency lighting, and regular fire extinguisher inspections. Coordinate with local authorities for fire safety audits.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly test the site emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential emergencies such as fires or spills.
  • Collect and report detailed site-specific EHS data, including incidents, near-misses, and performance indicators, to the Country EHS Lead and site management.
  • Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring all machinery and equipment meet safety standards.
  • Act as the registered Workplace Safety Officer for the project, ensuring overall site safety and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct safety toolbox meetings as per site requirements, ensuring workers are informed and engaged with safety protocols.
  • Implement and drive root cause analyses for any incidents or accidents that occur in the workplace, identifying corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee and manage the HSE Safety team, including planning and scheduling tasks to ensure the effective execution of safety protocols.
  • Handle all safety administration duties and other related responsibilities as assigned by direct superior or management.
  • Promote and foster a positive safety culture across all levels of the organization, encouraging open communication and suggestions for safety improvements.
  • Monitor and track safety performance metrics, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are regularly tracked and reported to management for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct safety audits for contractors and third-party workers, ensuring compliance with site-specific safety regulations and protocols.
  • Coordinate with emergency services and regulatory authorities to maintain effective communication and ensure prompt action in the event of an emergency.
  • Develop task-specific safety procedures for high-risk jobs, ensuring that all work practices align with safety standards.
  • Lead pre-job safety briefings for high-risk jobs or shifts, ensuring workers understand risks and the necessary safety measures.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to minimize strain-related injuries and improve worker comfort.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for safety program improvements based on ongoing assessments, ensuring safety policies and procedures are continually enhanced.
  • Manage the safety budget, ensuring adequate resources (training, equipment, etc.) are allocated for effective safety operations.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the Direct Superior or Management.

Job Requirement:

  • Possess at least Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Preferred at least 3 years hands-on experience in a relevant industry, preferably in facilities management or construction industry.
  • Experience in OSHA compliance, environmental sustainability, and risk assessment.
  • Must possess with MOM registered WSHO license.
  • Certification in QEHS Internal Auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in ISO standards, local safety and health regulations, and environmental laws.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal and external teams.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, adaptable to changes in management, and maintains a positive attitude in challenging environments.
  • Able to adapt with frequent local travelling or oversea travelling if relevant project requirement.
