Reporting to Team Lead, Patient Services, the incumbent will assist in the smooth running of the Patient Services Office. He / She will perform tasks in relation to Inpatient, Homecare and Daycare services as assigned.
Responsibilities
Inpatient
Patients’ Referral
- Upload and convert referrals from AIC into IHMS
- Assign referrals to designated doctor
- Email the acceptance to referring sources and record rejected referrals into the Hospice’s IHMS and AIC’s IRMS systems
- Contact patients and/or their family members to inform on the referral to DPH and to provide information on charges
In-Patients’ Admission
- Attend to pre-admissions processes of patients and patient admissions ensuring all documentations are complete and in order
- Maintain and update patients’ database
- Collect deposits from and issue official receipts upon admissions of patients who do not wish to complete means testing
Means-Testing/Social Support
- Check means-test status of new patients and for existing means test results in the NMTS
- Process means-testing documentation on patients who have requested for means-testing and follow up on incomplete documentation
- Scan and upload means-test result onto IHMS and create data to input subsidy
- Attend to enquiries on means-testing
Financial Counselling
- Carry out financial counselling to patients and ensure documentations are complete
- Ensure receipt of duly signed Medisave Authorisation Forms and update details into the
system
Discharge and Billing
- Create and send out confirmation of charges
- Enter and confirm accuracy of ad-hoc charges
- Generate invoice upon patient’s death or discharge (daily)
- Generate monthly invoices for current patients.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of inpatient means-test subsidy change report
Submission of claims for Medisave/Medishield
- Submit claims to Medisave, Medishield and other insurance providers
- Monitor and follow up on claims approval
- Record payments/receipts of claims into PAC upon approval from CPF Board
Homecare
- Download referrals daily from the AIC portal and upload into IHMS
- Assign referrals to triage doctor
- Admit accepted cases referred from outpatient clinics and restructured hospitals
- Liaise with the respective hospital’s nursing staff of patients whose referrals are accepted but who have not been discharged (from the restructured hospital) for the discharge summary and advance care plan to be sent upon patient’s discharge and to arrange for means-testing if required
- Input all patients’ particulars into the system and admits all accepted referrals into the AIC portal
- Key discharged/deceased cases into the system
- Perform quarterly submission of patient load reports onto ILTC portal
- Compile and submit statistics on Homecare, Program Dignity and Program Impact at the beginning of each month
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of means test subsidy change report for Home Care, Project Dignity and Project Impact
Daycare
- Admit accepted cases as instructed by the Day care Nurse Manager
- Submit monthly statistics on Day care
Others
- Proficient in the use and navigation of up to multiple systems (AIC,NMTS,VMS,iHMS,BC,NPHC,Excel)
- Attend to enquiries on billings, deposits and means testing
- Attend to the auditors on the audits of means testing and financial counselling
- Any other work assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or relevant field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ working experience in healthcare industry
- A team player who is mature, dynamic and self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills with excellent customer-service mindset
- Proficient in computer applications multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
