What a Product Engineer does at HP:

  • Provide resolution and implement engineering solution to product/manufacturing issues.

  • Engage R&D and Product Development to enable New Product Introductions and Extensions.

  • Identify the risks early in the program and determine the test methods needed to characterize the product to ensure we meet the end-customer needs.

  • Throughout the program, characterize the product to ensure we understand the risks and what it would take to address the risks.

  • Drive Product Qualification processes.

  • Drive and implement strong Product Quality System.

  • Own the form, fit and function of HP Printhead and drive Change Management.

  • Engage and drive solutions across HP value chains team such as Process Engineering, Supply Chain, Tech Support as well as Production, to improve Manufacturing Line Productivity, Yield and Quality.

  • Conceptualize, Develop and Deliver solutions to simplify Processes and deliver Cost Reduction out of the Operations.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Material Engineering.

  • Possess good understanding of manufacturing processes, methodologies and environment, preferably have the experience working in a fast pace and high volume electronics product manufacturing environment.

  • Strong leadership and organization skills.

  • Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving and Project Management skills.

  • Good Understanding of Quality Assurance & Process Control Knowledge.

  • Excellent team player, interpersonal and communication skill.

  • Able to work well under stress, both internally and across functions.

  • Fast learner, proactive and self -driven.

  • Technically inclined and hands-on personality.
