DC Account Director

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description:

As a Data Center Account Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing the site team operations and managing all aspects of data center operations. You will need to have a deep understanding of the data center operations and technology, stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies, and be able to effectively liaise with local vendors specific to data center operations.

Job Summary:

Account Operations:

  • Initiate strategies to achieve measurable improvements in operation efficiencies, in conjunction with your team including Service Delivery Manager, Nlyte Specialist etc.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs and processes to improve operations
  • Take and create experiences that are easy to deal with, that create consistent and sustainable value for our clients, customers, and each other respectfully.
  • Able to do transition for newly site by liaising with other transition team members.
  • Work together with site team, support a variety of critical business functions including financial, procurement, vendor management, contract management, transportation programs and general office services. Find innovative ways to streamline and enhance service delivery, while keeping an eye on the bottom line.
  • Ensure client SLA and KPI are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure monthly reporting is understaken to demonstrate the efficient operations, and forecasts
  • Manage budgets, and cost forecasts accurately
  • Manager client expectations

Market Knowledge:

  • Stay informed about the latest developments, trends, and regulations in DC Operations and technology
  • Analyse competitor strategies and market dynamics to inform decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.

Vendor Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors specific to data center operations,
  • Negotiate service agreements, pricing, and contracts with vendors to ensure optimal service levels are maintained within budget.
  • Manage vendor performance, conduct regular audits, and resolve any escalations or disputes.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and certifications related to data center operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust security protocols, including access control, surveillance systems, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and ensure business continuity in the event of emergencies or disruptions.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT teams, engineering teams, and business unit leaders, to align data center operations with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management by providing regular updates on data center performance, key metrics, and any significant issues or developments.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or similar experience, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years proven experience in data center operations, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, electrical systems, cooling technologies, and security protocols.
  • Strong knowledge in data center networks, passive infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge in network and IT hardware infrastructure
  • Familiarity with local regulations, market dynamics,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
